Army DOT Golf Course
An army course inside Hisar Military Station, dated to 1989 by a golf directory which credits it with a driving range, short-game practice areas, a teaching pro, rentals and caddies. Its size is genuinely disputed: that directory says 12 holes, par 71, about 6,200 yards, rated 72.0/113, while Wikipedia's Hisar Military Station article states flatly "There is an 18 hole Golf Course". A 72.0 course rating and a 6,217-yard par-71 are both 18-hole numbers, so the "12" looks like a directory data error — but neither source is the army's own and no official document settles it, so both readings are given here rather than reconciled. Existence, at least, is no longer in doubt: the Comptroller and Auditor General's performance audit of Defence Estates Management (Report No. 35 of 2010) lists golf courses on defence land, and its entry for Hissar shows 193.30 acres as of August 2009 — one of the largest allotments in the whole 97-station table, which is itself hard to square with a 12-hole course. The same report records the origin of the "EPTA" naming used across army courses: "In 2004, Chief of the Army Staff, however, declared Golf as a sports activity and not only a recreational activity. He further directed that Golf Courses would be named as Army Environmental Park and Training Area". What is still missing is any sign of current activity: no phone, no website, no official army or cantonment page, and no dated report from 2025 or later in English or Hindi. Access terms are not published. A separate "Hisar Police Lines Golf Course" appears in user scorecard databases and may be a second, distinct facility in the city.
