CVR Southport Links (Krishnapatnam Port)

CVR Southport Links is a golf project inside the Krishnapatnam Port premises in Nellore district, commissioned by the port's former owners (KPCL, the CVR family) and designed by David Hemstock, who also designed the HGA course in Hyderabad. What verifiably got built is the academy phase, completed in 2015: a high-specification golf academy, a driving range, and a 9-hole pitch-and-putt family course whose signature hole plays to an island green across the sea. Hemstock's project page (circa 2019) says construction of a 7,200-yard, 18-hole sand-based championship links "is underway", and the port sponsored the Krishnapatnam Golden Eagles amateur championship for several editions — but the port was acquired by Adani Ports in 2020–21, and no public signal about the golf facility from 2025 or later exists. An August 2026 check of Adani Ports' own Krishnapatnam page — live and demonstrably maintained (a berthing tariff dated April 2026) — found no mention of golf anywhere, so the current operator gives the facility no public existence; that silence is a documented absence, not evidence of closure. Whether the championship course was completed, and whether anyone outside the port community can play, are both unknown. This is an institutional facility whose access terms are not published (GolfPass labels the entry "Resort", a conflict with no published route in behind it).
