East Point Golf Club

East Point Golf Club is Visakhapatnam's — and coastal Andhra's — principal golf club, founded in 1884 on the East Point shore and relocated in 1964 to Mudasarlova, where it occupies about 100 acres leased from the Raja of Vizianagaram. It is an 18-hole championship course (upgraded to IGU Category A in 2021, awarded "best renovated course" in 2022, and host to its first PGTI professional event in September 2023), with a two-tier driving range, chipping and putting greens, a bunker academy, graded coaches and junior programs. Though membership-run — Wikipedia notes about 1,400 members — the club publishes guest green fees (₹2,000 weekday / ₹3,000 weekend for Indian guests, including GST) and describes itself as the only course in the city open to people from all walks of life, so non-members can pay and play. The official site is live and its membership tariffs are dated effective June 2025, a solid recent signal. The club itself publishes no par or yardage; GolfPass gives par 71 and 5,850 yards from the white tees — a directory figure, best treated with caution.

Practicalities from the club's own pages (all read August 2026, pages undated): the course runs 5 AM–6:30 PM in summer and 5:30 AM–6 PM in winter, closed Mondays and holidays; the driving range runs 5:30–9:30 AM and 3–6 PM (Sundays 5:30 AM–12 PM and 2:30–6 PM), also closed Mondays. Every user — walk-in golfers included — registers with a club card or by signing the register at reception. Tee slots are booked through the members' club app, so a visiting non-member should phone reception first. The range tariff is ₹200 for guests (₹500 foreigners) plus 18% GST, with kit hire at ₹800 for guests; coaching is published per session by coach grade (₹400–₹900 for guests) or as a 30-lesson package (₹15,000 non-members) that includes five course rounds. Dress code: collared shirt required; no cargo shorts, sleeveless shirts, tracksuits or rubber slippers.
