AKDR Golf Village
A pay-and-play practice facility on OMR (Rajiv Gandhi Salai) at Mettukuppam near Thoraipakkam: a 220-yard floodlit driving range with 16 sheltered bays, practice greens, a 9-hole executive par-3 pitch-and-putt, a mini-golf course and a coaching academy, with banquet and conference space alongside. Its official website is live and publishes a full walk-in rate card: Rs.150 for range practice between 6am and 6pm, Rs.250 for adults in the evening slot, Rs.150 for 60 balls, Rs.100 to hire two clubs for an hour. Coaching is priced separately at Rs.1,500 an hour for adults and Rs.750 for juniors, with 15-class packages at Rs.20,000 and Rs.8,000. The site has not been touched in years, though — copyright lines of 2010 and 2018, no dated content, and two of its own pages disagree about closing time — so it is no evidence that the place is still open. The newest dated public sign of activity is a March 2024 Adyar Times profile of chief coach Krishnan describing the range in active use; there is nothing from 2025 or 2026, and the newest Tripadvisor review is from December 2017. Nothing dated confirms it is open today, so ring the reception line before visiting.
