Army Palm Grove Golf Course
An Indian Army 18-hole course (par 72, built 2005 per GolfPass) on the Island Grounds at Park Town in central Chennai. It is a military facility: access terms are not published anywhere, and almost everything known about it comes from undated golf directory listings, which describe a driving range, putting green, caddies and a teaching pro. Those listings disagree on its length — GolfPass gives 6,266 yards, Hole19 prints a 5,729-yard blue-tee card — and disagree again on the phone number, so no number can be given with confidence. That the course stands on defence land is confirmed by the Comptroller and Auditor General, whose Report No. 35 of 2010 lists "Chennai — 122.25 acres" among 97 Army golf courses as they stood in August 2009 — though that list counts stations, not courses, so it says nothing about how many Army courses the city has, and it is not evidence of anything after 2009. No dated 2025-or-later activity could be found in English or Tamil news, on any government or army site, or with the Tamil Nadu Golf Federation, so nothing dated confirms the course's current state — though army courses of this kind typically continue operating quietly for service members and their guests.
