Army Golf Course (AEPTA)

18 HOLES · PAR 72

The Army Golf Course at Dhaula Kuan — formally the Army Environmental Park & Training Area (AEPTA) — is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course of 6,499 yards inside Delhi Cantonment, reportedly built in 1966. It is an Indian Army institutional facility, and it does have an official website at aepta.in, which publishes its hole-by-hole card, green fees, membership rules and tournament section. Those rules are unambiguous about access: "No membership will be granted to civs", foreigners are not permitted use of the course, and eligibility runs to serving Army officers posted in Delhi/NCR, Navy officers on Naval HQ recommendation, and retired Army officers domiciled in Delhi/NCR. Delhi Tourism says the same thing more briefly — membership for the general public is closed. The site's fee table does nonetheless carry an entrance band for the general public at ₹1,50,000, which sits oddly against the blanket exclusion; that conflict stands unresolved. The course is treated as operating on the strength of a tournament draw dated 25 May 2025 on its own site, with the caveat that the site's course-status board has not been touched since August 2023.

Relationship to the Air Force Golf Course. This course and the Air Force Golf Course in Delhi are two distinct places, not one course under two names. They belong to different services, and this course's own membership rules say so directly: "Air Force offrs not to be given membership as the Air Force has their own two golf courses." They differ on every point of comparison — 18 holes vs 9, par 72 vs par 35, 6,499 yd vs 2,904 yd, Delhi Cantonment (110010) vs Race Course Road in central Delhi, roughly 5 km apart, with different phone numbers and separate entries in every directory that lists both. Delhi Tourism's official Delhi golf list includes this course and no Air Force one.

On the CAG defence-land annexure. The 2010 CAG performance audit tabulates golf courses on defence land as they stood in August 2009, and row 88 reads "Delhi — 49.04" acres, sitting between "86 Ambala 59.64" and "87 Amritsar 52.00"; those neighbouring rows were transcribed verbatim and reproduced across two independent fetches, so the reading is sound. It is worth being precise about what that does and does not show. It corroborates that an Army golf course existed at Delhi station in 2009 — nothing about 2025, and it can never lift a status. It covers Army stations only, so it is silent on the Air Force course and cannot be used to support that record. And it lists stations rather than courses, so the single "Delhi" row is not evidence that the Army has exactly one course in Delhi. The 49.04-acre figure is also small for an 18-hole layout, which may mean the row captures only part of the land or a different parcel; that is flagged, not resolved.

Sources still disagree on opening hours (5:30am–7pm per Delhi Tourism vs 6am–10pm per a golf directory), and the course's own site publishes no phone number, so the phone numbers given rest on Delhi Tourism, one of them independently corroborated by a directory listing.
