Army Golf Course Meerut
The Army Golf Course in Meerut cantonment is, per golfpass, a full 18-hole, par-72 course of 6,573 yards built in 1976 — by that listing the largest course in western UP outside the NCR. It is an Indian Army facility and no public access terms are published anywhere; golfpass classifies it Private/Military. The Comptroller and Auditor General's performance audit of defence estates management (CAG Report No. 35 of 2010, Annexure-IV, "Details of Golf Courses on Defence land") lists Meerut with 148.47 acres of golf course on defence land as of August 2009 — official confirmation that a full-size course exists there, though far too old to speak to current operation. That same report explains the "EPTA" naming used across Army golf courses: "In 2004, Chief of the Army Staff, however, declared Golf as a sports activity and not only a recreational activity. He further directed that Golf Courses would be named as Army Environmental Park and Training Area." Several golf apps accordingly index this course as "Meerut – AEPTA". The freshest evidence that it is operating is a dated news report rather than any web listing: Amar Ujala's Meerut edition of 7 December 2025 reports the Western UP Sub Area Golf Cup championship being played that day on the Army golf course in Meerut Cantt with 85 golfers.

What we knowEverything on file, and what the sources disagreed about
Two caveats stand. First, the address is uncertain: one source places the course at the Punjab Regimental Centre, while local directory listings put it on the Race Course road in Meerut Cantt. Both are inside the cantonment and the CAG's list of Army courses has only one Meerut entry, so this is very likely one course under two descriptions — but the street-level address should not be treated as settled. Second, the rental, caddie and teaching-pro details come from GolfPass's tick-box facility template, which that site applies liberally to little-known courses; treat them with low confidence.
(Meerut's historic Wheler Club was also checked: its domain whelerclub.com now serves only a hosting-panel default page, and no current evidence of a golf course there was found.)
No official page for this course exists on Indian Army or other government websites, and no press release, joining-instruction document or station page mentioning it was found. The course has no official website, and no social-media presence was located.
