Bombay Presidency Golf Club
Bombay Presidency Golf Club, founded in 1927 on reclaimed land in Chembur, is Mumbai's best-known full course: 18 holes, par 70, about 6,150 yards, originally laid out by Peter Thomson and extensively redesigned in 2009. It is a members' club — the public cannot simply turn up. The club's own rules confirm the only routine way in is as a member's guest, and cap any one guest at four introductions a month; the club separately publishes a list of 35 Indian and 17 overseas affiliated clubs, so a member of one of those has a documented second route, though BPGC publishes none of the terms, fees or handicap requirements attached to it. No green fee is published anywhere on the club's own site, and outside figures conflict: undated round-ups print differing guest green-fee, cart and caddy "guide prices", while a 2024 visitor review cites ₹5–7k a round and a ₹700 caddie fee — so no reliable figure exists. What the club does publish is its coaching scale — two tiers of professionals, ₹1,000 to ₹5,000, the same rate for members and guests, exclusive of GST. The club is clearly active: its official site is maintained, carries the 2024-25 annual report, and it hosted the IACC Open corporate tournament reported by PTI in January 2026. Closed Mondays.
