College of Military Engineering Golf Club
The CME Golf Club is a 9-hole parkland course (par 36, about 3,400 yards, built 1997) inside the College of Military Engineering campus at Dapodi in Pimpri-Chinchwad, north- west Pune. It is an Army institutional course: directory listings describe carts, caddies, rental clubs and a teaching professional, but the club publishes nothing itself — no website, no fees, no public access terms — and the phone number in circulation appears to be a campus exchange. Godigit's listing (par 71, 6,768 yards, "designed by Tom Fazio") conflicts with golfpass and contains at least one clearly implausible claim, so it should be distrusted. No dated public evidence from 2025 or later was found, so nothing confirms the course is currently operating — though permanent military courses of this kind rarely close. Godigit's page does display "Last updated: 12-08-2026", but the identical date appears on the same site's Mumbai golf listing, so it stamps the website rather than this course and proves nothing here.

What we knowEverything on file, and what the sources disagreed about
Not the same course as Southern Star RSI, Pune. These are two distinct Army-run courses in the same city and a dedup sweep should not merge them. Godigit's Pune listing names them separately, side by side, with different figures — "CME Golf Course, CME Road" at 9 holes against "RSI Golf Course, Camp area" at 18 holes, par 67, 5,403 yards — and they sit in different places under different formations: CME is on the College of Military Engineering campus at Dapodi in the city's north-west, an Engineers training establishment, while Southern Star RSI is in Pune Camp near Ghorpadi under Southern Command's Rajendrasinhji Institute, and was established in 1956 against CME's 1997. One further trap worth naming: the CAG's 2010 defence-land annexure has a single row "15 | Pune | 20.18" acres. That table lists stations, not courses, so a single Pune row cannot be read as evidence that Pune has only one Army course — 20.18 acres would not accommodate either of these layouts on its own. A sister record hit exactly this trap on Bangalore.
