Southern Star RSI Golf Course
The Southern Star RSI Golf Course is the Indian Army's golf course in Pune Camp, run under the Rajendra Sinhji Institute / Southern Star Training Area near Ghorpadi and the circuit house. Established in 1956, it is a compact 18-hole parkland layout — par 67, about 5,400 yards — with a driving range, caddies, rentals and teaching professionals per directory listings; two independent listings agree exactly on the hole count, par and yardage. Like most Army courses it publishes nothing directly. Sources disagree even on its PIN code — Mappls says 411040, golfpass 411006, godigit 411001 — and none of the three can be checked: the Mappls page now sits behind a sign-in wall, and godigit's address string carries a Google Plus Code, which rules that block out, so no PIN is given here rather than guessing. The sports-complex website that turns up in search results, sstaandscpune.org, does not resolve at all. Two things that look like recent evidence are not: godigit's "Last updated: 12-08-2026" is a site-wide stamp that appears identically on its Mumbai page, and a September 2025 Punekar News report about Army officers playing golf in Pune concerns the Poona Golf Club at Yerwada, not this course. No fees or public access terms are published. Anecdotally such courses admit members of the public as members or guests under service-run schemes, but nothing citable confirms that here.

What we knowEverything on file, and what the sources disagreed about
Not the same course as the CME Golf Club, Pune. Both are Army courses in Pune and a dedup sweep should leave them separate. Godigit's Pune listing names them side by side as distinct entries — "RSI Golf Course, Camp area", 18 holes, par 67, 5,403 yards, against "CME Golf Course, CME Road", 9 holes — and they differ in every material respect: this one sits in Pune Camp near Ghorpadi under Southern Command's Rajendrasinhji Institute and dates from 1956, while CME's is on the College of Military Engineering campus at Dapodi in the city's north-west, an Engineers training establishment, and dates from 1997. Note also that the CAG's 2010 defence-land annexure carries a single row "15 | Pune | 20.18" acres; that table lists stations, not courses, so one Pune row is no evidence that Pune has only one Army course — 20.18 acres could not hold this layout by itself. A sister record hit exactly that trap on Bangalore.
