Kashmir Golf Club
Kashmir Golf Club is Srinagar's historic city-centre course, founded in 1887 under the British per tourmyindia (other tellings give slightly different dates) and the oldest course in the Kashmir valley — Maharaja Hari Singh and early Indian golf figures played here. It spreads 18 holes over about 52 acres adjoining Maulana Azad Road, Srinagar's main avenue — a location confirmed by the operator itself, the J&K Tourism Development Corporation, whose golf page states the club "is situated on the Maulana Azad Road" and describes the 18-hole course as having hosted a number of tournaments. It runs as a members' club that also takes visitors: golfpass classes it semi-private, though another directory calls it public — the sources disagree. On price there is honestly nothing solid. A "₹100 per day" figure circulates, but it comes from a private travel agency's page carrying no publication or modified date at all — only a site-wide copyright stamp — so it cannot be dated and should not be trusted. The natural place for an official tariff is the operator: JKTDC runs this course, and both of its golf pages were checked — neither publishes any fee for Kashmir Golf Club. So there is no official price to fall back on, and an undated outside price is worse than none. For what it is worth, a discount-card site advertises a green fee "from INR 1,500" here; that figure is contested rather than dependable. Anyone planning to play should assume prices are unpublished and ask at the club. An August 2026 tourism-department news item names it among "India's finest golf courses" in J&K, and an early-August 2026 sports-infrastructure piece names it again; those are the newest dated signals that it is alive, and both are bare name-checks rather than coverage. JKTDC's own site does describe the club as currently existing, but that site is years stale (2017/2019 copyright), so it says little about today. One oddity: the golftoday listing gives the club's administrative contact as Royal Springs Golf Course, and golfshake prints the identical address and phone. Shared tourism-department administration across Srinagar's courses is plausible, but the Royal Springs street address should not be taken as this club's. Par, yardage, current fees, and any working phone or website still cannot be pinned down reliably — though the operator's page does state a par of 70.
