Leh Golf Course
The only golf documented in Ladakh is the army-built course at Leh on the Leh–Manali highway, associated with the "Fire & Fury" Corps (the Indian Army's XIV Corps headquartered at Leh) and sitting at roughly 3,366 m — old photo captions call it a glimpse of the world's highest golf course, a claim no authoritative source confirms (the Guinness-recognised highest is elsewhere). Evidence of its existence is real but thin and undated: two sparse international directory listings and a single photograph from September 2004 captioned as a 9-hole course. The hole count should be treated as unknown: one directory prints "18 Holes", but its template prints the same string on every thin Indian Army entry — it even sits in that entry's telephone field, and in those of two unrelated Army courses — so it is a database default, not a fact about Leh; the same directory's "driving range" is likewise an empty template section rather than an observed facility. A deliberate search of Indian Army, PIB, national and Ladakh-administration sources for any official mention of a Leh golf course found nothing, and nothing dated from 2025 or later shows the course's current state. As an army facility its access terms are unpublished; one directory's boilerplate says guests are always welcome, which is not evidence. No phone, fees, season or website exist anywhere found, and the "official websites" one directory attaches are generic J&K tourism portals that have no connection to this Ladakh course.
