Lignite City Golf Club
A 9-hole course on about 45 acres inside the NLC India (Neyveli Lignite Corporation) township in Cuddalore district, created in 1989 under then-chairman Mahibsingh and upgraded from browns to grass greens in a 2004–05 renovation, after which it reportedly hosted national-level and inter-club events. It is the classic Indian PSU-township course: real, mapped, run through the Lignite City Club — NLC India's staff club — with no website and no published access terms. The course is demonstrably alive: NLC India Limited and the Lignite City Club staged the All India Invitational CMD Cup Golf Tournament here on 19–20 July 2025, with teams from MCL, BEML and ONGC, and the trade press describing the nine holes as well maintained. Two caveats a reader should keep. First, the map listing that supplied the coordinates and the 607801 PIN is now behind a sign-in wall, so those could not be re-checked; a separate township guide gives the club's own address as Block 25, Neyveli Township, 607803. Second, nothing about access has been published: the 2025 event was an invitational between company and club teams, not open play, and no green fee, guest policy or visitor route exists in any source.
