United Services Club

The United Services Club in Colaba, established in 1937 and run jointly by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, holds one of only three 18-hole courses on the Mumbai peninsula — a flat, links-style layout of about 6,125 yards, par 71, with a driving range and practice greens, laid out along the Colaba seafront. For a member of the public there is no published way to play here: the club's own website says it is primarily for service personnel, that membership for people outside the services has been closed since 2001, and that only reciprocal arrangements with selected clubs are honoured. Its affiliated-clubs directory names those clubs but sets out no guest rule, temporary membership or charge — so the only documented route in is to already be a member of an affiliated club, and even that route's terms are unpublished. Golfpass agrees the access type is private. Two honest caveats. First, the golf specifics — par, yardage, course rating, the academy — come only from golf directories: the club's own site does not mention golf anywhere, not even in its facilities list. Second, and for the same reason, nothing reachable actually evidences the course as currently in play; the site's copyright is 2023 and no dated 2025-or-later source, press item, fixture or military document naming this course could be found. That is a statement about the evidence, not a suggestion that the course has closed.
