Bangalore Golf Club on Sankey Road is one of India's oldest clubs, founded in 1876 as a 12-hole course by the British and restructured in 2000–2002 into a compact 18-hole layout (Phil Ryan redesign) squeezed into about 60 acres in the middle of the city. The card is settled: the club's own site gives par 70 at 6,118 yards off the blue tees and 5,278 off the red, matching Troon's directory and refuting GolfPass's par 67 / 5,380 yards. Two websites cause confusion: bgc1876.in is only the members' tee-time booking portal (and only on the www host; the bare domain does not resolve), while the club's actual public website lives on a separate domain, bgc1876.com, and is fully maintained. That site matters for access: BGC publishes a visitor green-fee card — affiliated-club members ₹750+GST on weekdays, IGU members ₹1,500, others ₹3,000, rising to ₹2,000 / ₹3,000 / ₹5,000 at weekends and on public holidays — and says visitors are accommodated six days a week between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM, booking up to a day ahead, with a handicap certificate mandatory to play the course. It is still run as a heritage members' club. One caution on contact details: the phone number GolfPass prints does not appear in the club's own fourteen-department contact directory — use the club's reception line.

How a visitor actually books, from the club's own Visitors page (August 2026): by phone to the starter or reception — the club names two contacts with mobile numbers on the page — up to one day in advance, with walk-ins accepted subject to slot availability. The online "Book a Tee Time" button is not a public route: it leads only to the members' login portal on bgc1876.in. None of the visitor rates carries a stated effective date, so they are recorded as observed current on the live club site in August 2026 rather than as a dated revision. Club sets can be hired at ₹1,500+GST, caddies run ₹400–500 by grade, and TripAdvisor rates the club 4.4 of 5 across 46 reviews (most recent February 2025).
