Established in 1962 beside Sukhna Lake under the Shivalik foothills, Chandigarh Golf Club is the region's flagship, Jeev Milkha Singh's home club, with a floodlit 9-hole course it calls unique in Northern India alongside the Peter Thomson-lineage 18. For all its pedigree, the way in is published and bookable: a visitor tier at ₹1,770 on weekdays (GST included) and an online tee-time system, with the office answering Tuesday to Sunday.

What we knowEverything on file, and what the sources disagreed about

Chandigarh Golf Club, established 1962 in Sector 6 beside Sukhna Lake under the Shivalik foothills, is the region's flagship course: 18 holes, par 72, expanded from 12 holes in 1978 to a Peter Thomson design and later reworked by David Hemstock and Vijit Nandrajog. Sources disagree on length: the club's own hole-by-hole scorecard totals 6,970 yd off the blue tees (3,489 out + 3,481 in), while both the club's own prose and Wikipedia say 7,202 yd and golfpass says 7,063 yd; the measured scorecard is the figure to trust, but the disagreement stands. The official site also advertises a floodlit 9-hole course — which it calls unique in Northern India — and a floodlit driving range. It is home club of Jeev Milkha Singh. It is fundamentally a members club, but the club itself publishes a full green-fee rate card and runs an online tee-booking system (cgc.golfez.in), so non-member play clearly exists. The fees here come from that rate card directly: a visitor pays ₹1,770 on a weekday and ₹3,540 at weekends, holidays or prime time, a registered applicant ₹885 / ₹1,770, and a foreign visitor USD 89 / USD 130, all inclusive of 18% GST. Practice is ₹70 a session for visitors and ₹50 for registered applicants, on all days — a "₹50 weekday / ₹70 weekend" split that circulates elsewhere does not exist; it is a misreading of a payer category as a day of the week.

Pass-C notes (2026-08-24): the belief that the guest rate card exists "only as an image" is wrong and stays wrong on re-check — the green-fee page serves the card as readable HTML text, and it actually shows the same rates twice, once excluding and once including 18% GST (visitor ₹1,500 → ₹1,770 weekday, ₹3,000 → ₹3,540 weekend; member's guest ₹1,125 → ₹1,327.50 / ₹2,250 → ₹2,655; foreigner USD 75 → 89 / USD 110 → 130 — every recorded incl-GST figure re-confirmed arithmetically). The incl-GST table also carries senior-citizen sub-categories not itemised here. The club's own pages now give the practical frame for a visit: tee times run 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the club is open six days a week with Monday closed, and the office answers Tue–Sun 9:00–5:00 on 0172-2740327. On aggregate review data the club holds a Google rating of 4.5 from over two thousand reviews (as relayed by Wanderlog, August 2026). The club also ran its own CGL 2026 league, per a current section on the official site.
