Kaziranga Golf Resort
Kaziranga Golf Resort is a tea-estate golf destination near Jorhat (Kaziranga National Park itself is about 80 km away): an 18-hole championship course by architect Ranjit Nanda spread over ~150 acres of the Sangsua and Gatoonga estates, inaugurated in 2011 by then-Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. It is a serious layout — par 71, 6,830 yards from the tips with a stout 136 back-tee slope — attached to a small colonial-style resort of eight cottages (16 rooms), sold on OTAs partly under the name "Burra Sahib's Bungalow". A 2023 feature quoted guided golf packages from ₹22,000. The evidence trail is awkward: the resort remains bookable on booking.com and MakeMyTrip, which suggests it is trading, but those pages carry auto-generated "2025/2026" stamps rather than dated content, the resort's own web domain is dead (as of August 2026), and no phone or email could be confirmed. A June 2024 magazine feature (discovereast.in, page-dated byline) is the newest trustworthy sign of activity, so nothing dated since June 2024 confirms the resort is open — check before travelling.
