Peermade Golf Club
Peermade Golf Club, established 1925 in the tea-and-cardamom hills of Idukki district near Elappara, is one of Kerala's old planters' courses — founded by a committee of Scottish planters elected in 1924, with the course laid out at its present site in 1925. Despite a total length that looks too short for a full eighteen, it genuinely is an 18-hole course: three independent sources give 18 holes, and one of them publishes a hole-by-hole card totalling par 72 out of 37 and 35 over 4,470 yards, with a course rating of 65.3 and slope 111 — a rating on the eighteen-hole scale, which a nine-hole layout cannot produce. It is simply a very short hill eighteen, which fits a 1925 plantation course played almost entirely to "browns": the club's own blog says the course "has only one green with all other holes being browns."

What we knowEverything on file, and what the sources disagreed about
Access is the open question. Golfpass classes the club Private; the club's own blog says visitors are welcome, gives a club email and the caddie master's number, and notes that regular play happens only on Sundays with a 9.30 am tee-off. That is owner-published and specific, which would normally settle it — except the blog is from 2011 and has not been updated since February 2012. No website exists, no tariff is published anywhere, and the only 2025-dated trace found is a five-star review on a listings site whose entire text is the word "Hi", which is worth nothing as evidence. The club may well still function for the local planter community, but public evidence stops far short of proving current operation.
