Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club
Mysuru's JWGC is a tight, heavily wooded heritage par-70 in the lee of Chamundi Hills, hard against the Mysore Race Course — tournament drone footage shows greens laid out within the racetrack itself — founded under the Wadiyar maharajas and still running a full tournament calendar into 2026–27. It is a members' club whose own pages speak only of members and their guests: no visitor fee is published, so phone the secretary's office before planning a round.

What we knowEverything on file, and what the sources disagreed about
Mysuru's Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club sits at the foothills of Chamundi Hills next to the race course in Nazarbad — a tight, heavily wooded heritage layout of 18 holes, par 70 (both confirmed on the club's own course page), about 5,700 yards from the back tees per AllSquare, which also credits a 1996 redesign by Pacific Coast Designs. The club itself publishes no yardage, and the two directories that do disagree sharply — AllSquare puts the blue tees at 5,683 yards, GolfPass at 6,217 — so treat the length as approximate. Sources also disagree on its founding: the club's own site says 1940 under Maharaja Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, while AllSquare says 1906 — either way it is one of Karnataka's oldest clubs. It runs as a members' club with a driving range, coaching, rooms and dining, publishes a 2026–27 tournament calendar and books tee times through a members' app; no visitor green-fee sheet is published, though it is a KGA affiliate (KGA's own fee page lists JWGC under "affiliated clubs (50% discount)", so JWGC members get half-rate green fees at KGA; whether that runs in both directions is not stated anywhere). How open it is to outsiders is genuinely contested: the club's own pages speak only of "members and their guests", while GolfPass classifies it "Resort/Semi-Private" and Karnataka Tourism says non-members "may require permission or guest access, so prior inquiry is recommended". This page follows the club's own wording; the conflict is noted rather than resolved.
