Access is the fact that matters here, and sources disagree. The club's own rulebook describes a members' club: guests must be registered at reception, must be accompanied by the member at all times, are capped at three visits a month and twelve a year, and may not enter club competitions. The only published non-member routes are temporary golfing memberships — one for Nilgiris residents learning the game (₹3,000 a month for twelve months, with at least twenty coaching classes required), one for golfers with a valid handicap wanting to play club tournaments. Neither is a tourist walk-up. Against that, the golf directory where2golf states visitors are welcome any day with advance booking and quotes a ₹1,000 eighteen-hole visitor fee, and GolfPass classifies the club Private/Resort while its stock FAQ claims it is open to the public. On balance this is best treated as a private members' club, with the visitor-fee claim noted as a genuine conflict; the ₹1,000 figure is dated 2021 by its own source and should be treated as a floor, not a quote. No green fee is published anywhere on the club's own site. The club also offers rooms, cottages and an annexe for stay-and-play, with published tariffs.
