Everyone learns golf differently. Most instruction falls into two styles — and knowing which one clicks for you makes the whole game easier to learn.

Find Your Learning Style
Clear, mechanical instructions — the technical breakdown. A coach might say "keep your lead arm straight in the backswing," or "shift your weight onto your front foot at impact." If you're analytical and like detailed, step-by-step processes, this is probably you.
Comparisons and imagery that let you feel the motion. A coach might say "skip a rock across the water with your trail hand," or "trace a Ferris wheel with the clubhead, not a baseball swing." If you learn through visuals, metaphors and sensations — and overthink less — this is probably you.
Neither is better — only what clicks for you.
Some moves are best taught step by step; others land better as a feel, and plenty of golfers use both. That's why every video in the Lab is tagged step by step or by feel — so you can pick what suits you.
So — step by step, by feel, or a mix? There's one way to find out.
