Grady Golf

Your First 90 Days

You've made it further than most — plenty of people say they want to try golf and never do. Here's what to realistically expect over your first three months, and how to use the Lab to get there.

Golf is hard — that's part of what makes it fun. Nobody's good when they start, and that's fine. The goal isn't to be great fast; it's steady progress you actually enjoy. A rough timeline:

First few weeks — you'll struggle to hit it cleanly. Normal.
1–2 months — more consistent contact, and your swing starts to make sense.
3 months — comfortable enough for a Par 3 course or a simulator round.

Jumping into a full round is like running a marathon before you've jogged a mile. Build up:

Driving range — get comfortable with your clubs and clean contact.
Indoor simulator (optional) — feedback, and a place to test clubs.
Par 3 course — short holes, all irons, chipping and putting, without the long-drive frustration.

Consistency beats intensity.

You don't have to practice every day — just consistently. A realistic week:

1–2 range sessions
a weekend Par 3 or simulator round
5–10 minutes of grip & stance drills at home

Even a couple of times a week adds up.
