Grady Golf

Welcome to Golf

Whether you've always wanted to try golf, your friends won't stop pestering you, or you just need an excuse to be outside more — welcome. This is where to start.

Golf is hard, and that's fine.

Learning it takes time, patience, and a little humour (you'll need it after your first ten whiffs). But it's also one of the most rewarding, addictive, plain-fun games you'll ever play — there's nothing like a pure strike, a long putt dropping, or the day "draw" finally makes sense.

You don't need to be good to start. Everyone's bad at first — accept it, laugh, and keep going.
It's all free. The internet is a goldmine of instruction; the best of it is curated here, in order, so you're not overwhelmed or digging for hours.
Learn your way. Some people want step-by-step, technical instruction (directive). Others learn by feel and analogy. Both are here — find what clicks.
Your first goal isn't 18 holes. It's a Par 3 course — a fun, beginner-friendly round that gets you actually playing.

The Lab is ordered by experience, beginning to end — but you don't have to go in a straight line. Jump in wherever you like and explore to find what works for you. Not sure where to begin? Try Find Your Learning Style or Your First 90 Days.
